Most typing sites are fast, ad-laden, English-only, and feel like 2008. We think a tool used by hundreds of millions of people deserves better.
If you've ever needed to test your typing speed for an exam, a job application, or just curiosity, you've probably ended up on a site cluttered with banner ads, popups, and questionable design choices.
We believe a typing test should be fast, calm, and respectful of your time. It should work in the language you actually type in. It should not require you to sign up. It should not interrupt you with ads. And the results it shows should genuinely help you improve.
That's the bar we're building toward. Not a sprawling feature factory. A single thing done very well, in many languages, for free.
A tool used by hundreds of millions of people deserves to feel made by someone who cared.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Four principles. No exceptions.
Speed before features
Every interaction should be instant. We'll skip a feature before we slow the page down. The test should start in under one second on a 4G connection.
Multilingual from day one
Half the world types in a script that isn't Latin. Most typing sites pretend otherwise. We're starting with seven languages and going from there.
No dark patterns
No ads on test pages. No fake countdowns. No 'you have one chance left' panic. No login walls. No pretending the free tier is broken.
Useful, not just impressive
Every feature should answer one question: does this help someone type better? If the honest answer is no, we don't ship it.

Typetera is a product by Anuvrittiksha, a small studio based in Bengaluru that builds calm, useful tools for the web. Started in 2026, our plan is to keep the team small, the product focused, and the codebase open. We don't want to be the next big thing. We want to be the typing test you actually open.
