Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of typetera.com and all related services (collectively, "Typetera" or the "Service"), which are operated by Anuvrittiksha EdTech Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our"), a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. By accessing or using Typetera you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Typetera. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms on your behalf. Users below 13 should not use Typetera; please ask an adult for assistance instead.
2. The Service We Provide
Typetera is a free, browser-based typing test platform. We provide tools to measure typing speed and accuracy in multiple languages, curated content such as typing tips and exam-preparation guides, and supporting features such as result history (stored locally in your browser). The Service is offered to you free of charge and is supported by non-intrusive advertising on selected pages. No payment, subscription, or account registration is required to use any feature of Typetera.
We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice. While we aim to keep Typetera available continuously, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party infrastructure issues, and unforeseen technical problems may result in temporary unavailability, and we will not be liable for any loss arising from such downtime.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Typetera only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit any other party's use and enjoyment of the Service. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, its servers, or related systems through hacking, password mining, or any other means;
- Use any automated system, bot, scraper, or similar tool to access, copy, or harvest content from the Service beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt and the public sitemap;
- Submit, upload, paste, or otherwise transmit through the Custom mode feature any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise objectionable;
- Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or any malicious code, or to attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service;
- Misrepresent results, scores, or features of Typetera in commercial advertising or certification claims without our prior written consent;
- Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
We reserve the right to investigate violations of these acceptable-use rules and to take any action we consider appropriate, including blocking access from offending IP addresses and reporting illegal activity to the relevant authorities.
4. Your Content (Custom Mode)
Typetera includes a Custom mode that allows you to paste or upload your own text for typing practice. Any text you provide in Custom mode is processed entirely within your browser. We do not transmit it to our servers, we do not store it on our infrastructure, and we do not share it with any third party. The text remains in local browser storage on your device until you clear it or your browser clears it according to its own settings.
You retain all rights to any content you provide in Custom mode. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to use any text you upload or paste - including but not limited to copyright, exam-board distribution restrictions, and employer confidentiality obligations. Typetera assumes no responsibility for content you choose to type through the Custom mode.
5. Intellectual Property
All content provided by Typetera - including the typing-test interface, the curated sentence corpora, the typing guides, the comparison pages, the exam-preparation content, the visual design, and the underlying source code (where not open-sourced) - is owned by Anuvrittiksha EdTech Pvt. 6. Disclaimers
Typetera is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements, that test results will be free of measurement error, that any exam-preparation content reflects the latest version of the exam syllabus, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Typing tests on Typetera are intended for self-assessment and educational practice. Results from Typetera are not an official certification of typing ability and should not be presented as such to employers, examiners, or third parties. Where official certification is required, you should use a certifying body's authorized test.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Anuvrittiksha EdTech Pvt. Ltd., its directors, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or any other intangible loss) arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service - whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed one hundred Indian Rupees (INR 100).

9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or business practices. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service. Your continued use of Typetera after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
