What the 2025 notification actually sets

One exercise, in two parts. The first part is a questionnaire of up to sixty questions: thirty on the subjects of the first block of the syllabus and thirty psychometric questions testing administrative, numerical or verbal aptitude. The second is a questionnaire of up to fifty questions on the second block. Ninety minutes covers both. Everything is multiple choice. A wrong answer costs a third of a point; leaving one blank costs nothing. Twenty-five points out of fifty is the minimum in each part. Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 appear in the syllabus, but as material to be examined on in writing rather than used. There is no transcription, no keyboard, and no speed to reach.

Why almost every page says otherwise

Because it used to be true, and because the correction is inconvenient for anyone selling practice. The cuerpo did run typing exercises in earlier cycles, and a great deal of preparation material was written then and never revisited. Search results still describe a target of somewhere between 250 and 350 keystrokes a minute for this exam, quoted without a notification behind it. That is not a small inaccuracy. Someone spending an hour a day on typing practice for this competition is spending it on an exercise the notification does not contain, and the questionnaire that decides the result gets whatever is left.

What to do instead

Open the notification for the process you are applying to and read the clause that lists the exercises. It is several pages in and it is the clause that decides what your preparation should be. If it matches the description above, your time belongs to the syllabus and to psychometric practice. If you are looking at a different competition, the answer can easily be different. Typing exercises do still exist in the Spanish public sector: the Cortes Generales sets one, and so do many autonomous and local competitions, each publishing its own bases in its own bulletin.
